Vienna - Hungary's Olympic hammer champion Adrian Annus did not appear for a drugs test on the Austro-Hungarian border on Friday, according to the Austrian anti-doping body OeADC.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge said in Athens early on Friday that the out-of-competition test, for which Annus was scheduled to appear by 14:00 GMT, was set up with the co-operation of the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Annus was returning home following his August 22 victory.

Karl-Heinz Demel of the OeADC said Annus did not appear at the border town of Schachendorf between the arranged times.

Annus underwent a drugs test in Athens - as do all the medallists - but the result was negative.
