Athens - The Olympic flame was doused in the Olympic stadium in Athens during the closing ceremony of the August 13-29 Games.

It will be lit again in 2008 in ancient Olympia for the torch relay ahead of the Beijing Olympics and eventually ignite the cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Olympics set for August 8-24, 2008. - Sapa-dpa
