Athlete stripped of gold
Athens - Olympic hammer champion Adrian Annus will be stripped of his gold medal here on Sunday for a doping offence, an International Olympic Committee official told AFP.
The decision was taken by the IOC's executive board after Annus, who is back home in Hungary, refused to undergo a new out-of-competition doping test.
The IOC wanted a further test from Annus after suspicions were raised that he had tricked testers after his win on August 22 by switching urine samples.
The gold medal will go to Japan's Koji Murofushi.
