Would love to win a medal (in Athens)!!
I want to take advantage of the Games to learn, see and experience as much as I can, then to bring this home to the fencing hall and share it all with other South African fencers.
I hope this will inspire and motivate the entire fencing community. It will raise the profile and awareness of the sport. I also hope to break a few plates in Athens!!!.

| Olympic Hero: |
Alexander Pusch, a German fencer who won gold in both individual and team events at the Olympics.
He is now coach for the German team. We got to train at the fencing school where he coaches in Tauberbischoffsheim in Germany and had several opportunities to chat and socialise with him.
He was good fun, even taking part in some of our silly antics.
I bought a bottle of wine that is made in that town and has fencers on the label, he signed it for me and I now treasure it.

| Favourite Olympic Moment: |
I have never been to an Olympics before, but I normally spend the entire Games being totally unproductive and glued to the TV.
The opening ceremony is always a highlight for me, seeing all the heroes of yester-year carrying the torch around the stadium, topped off with Mohammed Ali lighting the flame in Sydney was amazing - what an emotional opening!.
