Johannesburg - Five men, aged between 18 and 26, have been arrested in connection with the murder of an 54-year-old Benoni man, police reported on Thursday.
Inspector Janine Craucamp said Wednesday's arrests followed a break-in at a house in Benoni.
Pierre Grobbelaar, 54, was shot in a leg as he went to the assistance of his father, Petrus Grobbelaar, 84.
Pierre was taken to Johannesburg Gneral hospital where he later died.
Craucamp said police acted on information received and arrested the five suspects in Soweto.
A stolen 9mm Norinco Pistol was recovered and would be sent for ballistic testing.
The men were being held in the Benoni police cells and were expected to appear in court soon, Craucamp said.
