Pretoria - A police plane over Church Square and a security blockade of all roads leading to the square are part of heavy security for the Boeremag treason trial due to begin on Monday morning.
So far, traffic had not been severely affected.
SABC news reports that the square is teeming with police and metro officials and a small crowd has gathered outside the Palace of Justice, waiting for the doors to open.
The police's bomb disposal unit and sniffer dogs have been at the court since shortly after 06:00, said the SABC.
The 22 alleged rightwingers will be taken to court from prison in high-speed convoys with air support.
