Johannesburg - The north-bound carriageway of the N3 between the Voortrekker and Gray Avenue offramps was closed on Friday morning after a truck, carrying hydrochloric acid, jack-knifed, Ekhuruleni metro police said.
Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said emergency workers were at the scene cleaning up the spillage, but the road was only expected to be reopened after 15:00.
The N3/N12 west was not affected by the spill.
The truck driver was not injured in the incident.
