'Half-naked' teen dies

East London - A case of rape and murder is being investigated after an East London teenager - who was found half-naked outside her home - died in mysterious circumstances, police said on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Inspector Stephen Marais said the girl, 15, was found lying on the ground about 08:00 on Saturday by her family outside their home in the Mzamomhle informal settlement in Gonubie, East London.
The girl was unable to speak coherently, and her clothing and underwear had been pulled down.
Her family carried her inside, and put her on a bed.
About midday the family found the girl had died, and called the police.
Marais said the girl's body was taken to the government mortuary for a post-mortem to establish the cause of death, and whether she had been raped.
No one has yet been arrested, Marais said.
