Johannesburg - The headless body of a woman aged about 30 years was found on a disused mine property in Brakpan on Monday, East Rand police said.
Superintendent Andy Pieke said the body may have been dumped there.
"Due to the state of decomposition, the body is believed to have been on the property for more than ten days."
Pieke said the victim was wearing a white T-shirt, multi-coloured blouse in red, green and maroon colours, and a black petticoat. There was also an s-shaped gold coloured ring on her right hand.
He said the possibility would be investigated that the body might belong to a head found last month at the Spaarwater Dam near Duduza. A DNA analysis would be conducted.
