Durban - The Durban North area police on Monday warned criminals they would adopt a "no-nonsense" approach in dealing with crime during the festive season to ensure the safety of holiday makers on the beaches.
Police spokesperson Gugu Sabela said that criminals were expected to take advantage of overcrowding on beaches to commit criminal activities.
She urged people not to bring too much clothing as this might get stolen while they were swimming, and to pay attention to children as they tend to get lost in crowds.
"We as the Durban North area police are sending a message across to criminals that we have no place for them in our area.
"We commit ourselves to ensuring that people enjoy themselves to the fullest without any interruptions," Sabela said.
