Man kills superiors, self

Johannesburg - An official of the Boksburg Community Corrections offices shot dead two of his supervisors on Sunday and killed himself minutes later, a Gauteng Correctional Services spokesperson said.

Spokesperson Isaac Mosiane said the incident happened around noon on Sunday.

The man used his service pistol to shoot his seniors and to commit suicide. The motive for the attack is unclear, Mosiane said.

He said an investigation into the matter was currently underway. Names of the deceased would be released once their loved ones and relatives were informed.

The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (Nupsaw) sent its condolences to the families of the three dead people.

"It is unfortunate that this thing had to happen," Nupsaw spokesperson Success Mataitsane said.

"We regret what happened."
