C-Max: Two warders appear
29/11/2004 12:26 - (SA)
Pretoria - Two warders appeared briefly in the Pretoria district court on Monday in connection with the death of two prison officials and two inmates in a foiled escape bid from Pretoria C-Max this month.
The case of Mlungusi Ismael Msibi, 34, and Herman Makongela Makhubela, 32, was postponed to Thursday when they are expected to apply for bail.
Both men are expected to face four provisional charges of murder for their role in the November 6 attempted jail break from C-Max prison.
C-Max prison head Sam Gomba and acting area co-ordinator Dan Ndinisa were shot dead when five inmates tried to escape.
Two of the prisoners, realising their bid for freedom was doomed, committed suicide.
Makhubela, who was arrested last Friday, and Msibi on November 8, were remanded in custody.
