C-Max warder's case postponed
28/01/2005 12:30 - (SA)
Pretoria - A case involving two C-Max prison warders, implicated in the death of two prison officials during a foiled escape bid, was postponed on Friday in the Pretoria magistrate' court.
Mlungisi Ishmael Msibi, 34, and Herman Makongela Makhubela, 32, were told to appear again on March 11.
Magistrate Lydia Painter told the two the case had been postponed for further investigations.
The men each face four provisional charges of murder for their alleged role in a November 6 attempted jail break from C-Max high security prison.
Prison head Sam Gomba and acting area co-ordinator Dan Ndinisa were shot dead when five inmates tried to escape.
Three of the inmates, realising that their bid for freedom was doomed, then tried to commit suicide with the last two bullets they had left.
Two succeeded and the third was slightly injured.
Msibi was arrested two days after the botched escape bid and Makhubela on November 26.
Both men are out on bail of R5 000 each.
