Johannesburg - Four men were arrested after a cash-in-transit heist at the Fontainebleau shopping centre, north-western Johannesburg, on Monday morning, police said.
Captain Schalk Bornman said guards from Coin Security were collecting money at the shopping centre when they were confronted by four men and held at gunpoint at about 10:00.
A money bag and a firearm were taken from the guards.
The robbers fled in a car, but were chased and stopped by a Coin vehicle.
The men ran in different directions. A security guard fired a shot at the suspects and wounded one in the upper right leg.
Another man was apprehended by a member of the public and handed over to the police.
The remaining two men were arrested by police near the scene of crime.
Bornman said the injured man was taken to a local hospital under police guard.
The money bag and a firearm were seized.
