Delmas - Two men posing as policemen hijacked a truck carrying Kellogg's and Nestle products worth R250 000 on the road between Delmas and Bronkhorstspruit on Tuesday, said Mpumalanga police.
Captain Abie Khoabane said the white Mercedes-Benz truck was pulled off the road by a marked police bakkie with rotating blue lights.
Two men dressed in police uniforms told the driver the truck was stolen and they would have to take him to the police station for further investigation.
They took the man to the back of the bakkie, where two other men blindfolded him. He was taken to a house for a few hours before being dropped off on a gravel road at a nearby farm.
The truck was recovered in Alrode, Johannesburg, later on Tuesday, but the trailer and cargo were still missing. The suspects are also still at large.
Police warned motorists that if they were stopped in dark areas they should drive to the nearest police station.
