  • Bloemfontein - All five of the relatives accused of murdering Free State official Noby Ngombane were granted conditional bail of R10 000 each at the Bloemfontein district court on Wednesday.

Ngombane's wife Nokwanda, her brother Bongani, two of her sisters, Vuyokasi Mlambo, and Thanthiswa Mlambo and a niece Sephumle Booi all face charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice.

The conditions are that they report to police twice a week, hand in any travel documents and do not interfere with state witnesses.

Ngombane, and official in premier Beatrice Marshoff's office, was murdered at his home on March 22.

His wife was quoted at the time as saying the motive was political.
