Phuthaditjaba - A 31-year-old woman from QwaQwa was released after being kidnapped and gang raped for four days, said Free State police on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Christopher Mophiring said the woman had been waiting at a bus stop last Thursday when a group of men in a red car offered her a lift.

After she got into the car, they immediately covered her face with a cloth, took her to an unknown destination and raped her repeatedly.

The woman, who was released by her kidnappers on Monday, told police she could not identify her rapists as they wore balaclavas throughout the four days.
