Gunmen rob Jhb mall jewellers

Johannesburg - A group of 12 heavily armed men stole jewellery valued at R600 000 from the Village Walk shopping centre in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Sunday night.

Police spokesperson Constable Sefako Xaba said seven of the men robbed a jewellery shop outside the centre. The other five robbed a store inside the centre.

The men all wore masks.

Two security guards were overpowered and had their guns stolen.

No one was injured in the robbery and no shots were fired.

"The men fled in a red Ford Bantam. They are still at large," Xaba said.
