Call for calm after girl killed Cops took too long 6-year-old found dead

Johannesburg - Community members handed over a man to the Eldorado Park police station, south of Johannesburg, on Saturday in connection with the murder of six-year-old Ghairoenisha Michaela Lee Canchi.

"We can confirm that a man has been handed over to the Eldorado police station and that investigations are still continuing.

"But it's not the community who are investigating the case, the police are," Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said on Saturday.

"We will issue a formal statement once a person has been arrested and charged for the murder."

The girl went missing on Thursday afternoon and her body was found close to her home on Friday morning. She was buried on Friday afternoon.
