Nelspruit - A teenager swore at two elderly women in court when they muttered that she was giving her brother muti.
The teen, Masesi Kubhayi, 18, had been giving some home-cooked food to her brother, when he appeared in the Nelspruit circuit of Pretoria High Court on Monday.
Investigating officer Inspector Andrew Theledi tried to calm Kubhayi but she swore at him too and challenged everybody in court to prove she had muti.
It took Inspector Theledi and the court orderly about five minutes to restore calm but only after threatening to put her behind bars.
The two elderly women are witnesses against Kubhayi's brother, Charles.
Charles, 23, who lives in Masoyi near Hazyview, Mpumalanga, and his co-accused, Lucky Sambo, 18, face charges of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, housebreaking and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The case was postponed to Wednesday because of the interruption.
The two men are being kept in custody.
