Pupil kills classmate

Durban - A 16-year-old pupil was stabbed to death on Tuesday morning in Umlazi, allegedly by a classmate, said Durban police on Wednesday.

Captain Vincent Ndunge said the suspected killer had a squabble with Mabandla Zuma, 16, inside a classroom.

He threatened to fight Mabandla during break, but Mabandla did not take him seriously.

Mabandla was stabbed in the neck during morning break. Students managed to stop an ambulance, but he died on his way to hospital.

The suspect fled and is still at large.

Police were investigating a murder case, said Ndunge.
