284 km/h biker nabbed

Johannesburg - A motorcyclist was arrested going 284 km/h on the R59 south at the Kliprivier turnoff at 06:42 on Sunday, Ekurhuleni metro police said.
"The Suzuki superbike... was seconds earlier captured on our digital camera doing 249 km/h on the N3 south just before the Elands Interchange," said spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago.
Charges of exceeding the speed limit and reckless and negligent driving had been filed at the Alberton Police Station.
Two more motorcyclists were also taken into custody, one after clocking 192 km/h and the other, 189 km/h on the N3 south just before the Elands interchange, said Kgsago.
Charges against them had been laid at the Germiston Police Station.
He said 380 vehicles were caught travelling at speeds of between 131 km/h and 181 km/h at both points from 05:00 to 10:00
They drivers would get notices of their transgressions in the post.
