    Cape Town - A fire was raging out of control on Table Mountain and some properties were already alight, Cape Town's chief fire officer said on Thursday.

    "It started about an hour ago. It's quite a large fire on the side of the mountain facing the dock area.

    "One or two properties are already alight," Piet Smith said.

    "A strong wind is fanning the flames and it's out of control."

    Three helicopters, 16 fire tenders, National Parks staff and Working on Fire crew were "throwing everything at it".
