Cape Town - Three people were arrested after they were found in possession of dagga worth R140 000 in George on Friday, police said.

Spokesperson Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe said police staffing a roadblock reacted to a tip-off about a truck transporting dagga.

"Police officers stopped and searched the truck and found six bags full of dagga weighing 140kg."

A 36-year-old man and two women aged 30 and 32 were expected to appear in the George district court on Monday, Mangqwengqwe said.
