Bethlehem - The profitability of agriculture in the Free State will be one of the main discussing points between Thabo Mbeki and farmers in the province on Saturday.
Mbeki will meet farmers in Bethlehem as part of his presidential municipal imbizo in the eastern Free State.
Free State Agriculture president Louw Stytler said this issue has a direct impact on the province's economy.
"It's about the survival of Free State farmers and farmworkers," he said.
Other issues expected to be discussed related to land reform and black economic empowerment in the agricultural sector.
"We also want a cabinet policy on tariffs," said Stytler.
Mbeki was also expected to visit the towns of Lindley and Warden during his imbizo programme for Saturday.
