  • Cape Town - A telephone call informing the family of slain baby Jordan-Leigh Norton that a parcel was to be delivered to the Norton home linked Dina Rodrigues to the murder, the Cape High Court heard on Monday.

The investigating officer, Captain Esmeralda Bailey, told the court she was told of the call by Dylon Norton, brother of Natasha, the mother of the murdered infant.

Bailey said a police telephone call to Telkom established that the call to the Norton home was made from the firm Dulcie Lume, where Rodrigues worked.

Rodrigues is on trial with four accomplices before Judge Basheer Waglay for the murder in June last year.

The five are also accused of conspiracy to murder, and aggravated robbery.

Bailey told the court when she arrived at the crime scene she found an empty carton and a waybill on the floor.

Bailey said the waybill had Dulcie Lume's name on it, and gave the name "Vivier" as the sender.

The waybill also had Vivier's address in Vereeniging as well as his telephone number.

However, the investigation revealed the name Vivier, the Vereeniging address and telephone number to be false, she said.

    The hearing continues.
