Durban - Four escaped prisoners have been arrested in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, said police on Saturday.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson captain Vusi Mbatha said two of the escaped awaiting trial prisoners were arrested in Gauteng on Saturday morning.
Another two were arrested in Osuthu, near Nongoma, late on Friday.
Mbatha said the arrests were the result of a tip-off.
The four were part of a group of 10 awaiting trial prisoners who had escaped from Ulundi police station last Saturday, he said.
Police have re-arrested seven of the escaped prisoners. One, Madoda Buthelezi, 29, was shot by police after he attacked two officers with a knife on Thursday.
