Johannesburg - An 80-year-old woman was gang-raped and strangled at Ga-Mphahlele Lenting village in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo police said on Monday.
Superintendent Patty Khumalo said the victim had been drinking sorghum beer with three men who later accompanied her to her home on Saturday.
"On arrival at the victim's house, the suspects took turns in raping her."
Khumalo said the men then strangled the elderly woman.
The three men, aged 19, 29 and 30, were arrested and would appear in the Lebowakgomo magistrate's court on Monday.
In a separate incident, 18-year-old girl was gang-raped in Mdantsane, East London, police said on Monday.
Captain Errol Francis said the victim was threatened by a man known to her with a knife on a street in Mdantsane unit 2 on Saturday.
"The men forced her to the nearest bush where he raped her."
Francis said two other men joined them and took turns in raping the teenager.
The three suspects are still at large.
In another incident, the body of 46-year-old woman was found in pool of blood in Tamara on Saturday.
"She had multiple stab wounds and police suspect she was raped before being killed," Francis said.
