Mpumalanga - Mpumalanga police on Thursday arrested a 41-year-old man following a truck hijacking in Volksrust.

Superintendent Abie Khoabane said the man was spotted in the truck at the Lebombo border post, heading towards Maputo.

On Wednesday evening two armed men allegedly hijacked the truck's 63-year-old driver when he stopped to check the wheels of the vehicle.

He was forced into the truck and the men drove off.

After robbing him of his cellphone, the men dropped the driver off between Leslie and Delmas.

"At this stage we do not know what happened to the second suspect," he said.

The man was expected to appear in the Nelspruit magistrate's court on Friday.
