Springs - A young woman, 18, was raped at a dam at Springs on Wednesday after her boyfriend was forced into the boot of his car, police said.

Police spokesperson Andrew Pieke said on Thursday that the woman was with her boyfriend at President's Dam when she and her boyfriend were approached and threatened by three men who were armed with a gun.

The boyfriend was tied up and forced into the boot of his car.

"She was taken into a bush where one of the men raped her. The three men then fled the scene on foot," said Pieke.

The East Rand Sexual Offences unit were investigating. No arrests had been made.
