Nelspruit - A man accused of having sex with his own daughter and fathering her three children has been subjected to DNA tests to prove that he is their dad.
The 49-year-old man appeared in the Nelspruit regional court in Mpumalanga on Friday, but the DNA results were not ready, so the case was postponed to December 5.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughter, is accused of keeping his family isolated from neighbours in KaBokweni near White River.
According to the police statement, the family was told that the world was a wicked, dirty place.
His family was convinced that the end of the world was near and that it was the man's biblical right to have sex with his daughter.
The girl first fell pregnant when she was 13 and has given birth to two girls and a boy. She is now 21.
According to police, the girl found a note her dad had written in February this year. It allegedly revealed that he planned to kill the entire family and then commit suicide.
The girl informed her mother and the family ran away to relatives and reported the abuse.
The man has been in custody since February and he has not yet been asked to plead to charges of incest yet.
