Still fighting
Desmond Tutu is showing no signs of slowing down as he turns 77, and is still an advocate for justice.

  • Durban - KwaZulu-Natal police were searching for a one-month-old baby who was kidnapped in Mtubatuba at the weekend, said captain Jabulani Mdletshe on Monday.

Mdletshe said: "The baby was kidnapped on Saturday by a 25-year-old woman pretending to work for Africa Centre - a population research body - in Mtubatuba."

"The baby's mother was with the woman and the baby on their way to a clinic for blood tests for the baby.

"The woman told the mother to go home, saying she would bring the baby later.

"However, the woman never returned. The baby's mother and grandmother waited until Sunday and then went to the clinic where they were told that the woman had never come to the clinic."

Mdletshe said the woman began visiting the baby's mother on Thursday.

She claimed that she was doing research on newborn babies in the Mtubatuba area.

The woman returned to the house on Friday and then on Saturday when she told the mother that she needed to take the baby to the clinic for blood tests.

A case of kidnapping was opened with Mtubatuba police on Sunday.
