Polokwane - A well-known businessman died on Monday morning after a kudu bull jumped in front of his car on the N1 highway in Limpopo.
David Nunes, 32, died on impact. The kudu was also killed.
Nunes was a former president of the Pietersburg Lions Club.
Nunes was on his way from Gauteng to Polokwane when the kudu bull jumped in front of his BMW between the Settlers offramp on the N1 and the Kranskop tollgate.
His father, Mike Nunes, rushed to the accident scene.
He said there was a large game farm next to the N1 highway near the place where the accident took place.
He said his son had spent the weekend in Gauteng.
"Fortunately, he was alone in the car."
An expert on game said kudu still appeared in the wild in that area and not only on game farms. "The game fencing in that area is not very high, and a kudu can easily clear it."
According to Nunes sen, his son was a kind-hearted person.
"I'll always remember that he cared a lot for other people.
Nunes jun and his wife were divorced about two weeks ago. He leaves two sons from the marriage, MJ, 6, and Gareth, 4.
A service will be held at the Presbyterian Church Mount
Horeb in Polokwane on Friday.
