Johannesburg - Gunmen relieved three foreign tourists of their personal effects when the tourists arrived at their guest house in Bryanston on Tuesday, Netcare 911 said.
The three tourists - women from the UK and Spain - said they were hurt even though they offered no resistance and handed their possessions, including jewellery, to the robbers, according to Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman.
The women were in a state of shock and taken to hospital for assessment.
"They were horrified at how aggressive their attackers were," Dollman said.
The robbers had been lying in wait in the driveway of the guest house in Mount Street at about 16:00.
At least one spent firearm casing was found at the scene, as well as blood.
