Nelspruit - A man who raped his young daughter so badly that she will never be able to have children, and sodomised his even-younger sons, was jailed for life on Wednesday.

The girl was nine and the boys aged seven and five at the time of the attacks, which took place between November 2001 and March 2002.

The 44-year-old man from KaNyamazane outside Nelspruit was sentenced in the Nelspruit circuit of Pretoria High Court.

He was given life for raping the girl and an additional 15 years in jail for the attack on the boys.

Threatened to kill kids

The case was reported to police only on March 16 2002 when their mother returned from her job as a nurse at a private hospital and found her daughter bleeding.

The two boys then told her they, too, had been abused, but had been too scared to say anything because their father had threatened to kill them.

According to a doctor's report, the girl will never be able to have children of her own.
