Boy sees dad being shot

Pretoria - A general senior merchandise buyer for retailer Pick 'n Pay was killed in his Pretoria home on Tuesday in an apparent botched robbery, police said.
Police spokesperson Inspector Anton Breedt said Wayne Els was shot in the early hours of Tuesday morning after an unidentified group of men broke into his house in Murrayfield, Pretoria.
"The group accosted Els in his room and a shot was fired which wounded him in the chest," Breedt said.
Els' 15-year-old son, who heard the commotion, raised the alarm and the robbers fled. Els was rushed to the Wilgers Hospital where he later died.
It was not clear if the robbers took anything in the house.
"The boy is still very shocked and we will take a statement from him later," said Breedt.
