Johannesburg - Police seized dagga worth an estimated R30 000 on the street from a bus was travelling from Maseru to Bloemfontein, police said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, police stopped the bus at a road block on the N8 highway on Saturday morning, said Constable Mmako Mophiring.

Three bags of dagga was confiscated and an undisclosed number of men were arrested.

The men were reportedly following the bus in a Volkswagen Jetta.

It was believed that the bus driver did not know he was carrying dagga aboard the bus.

A case of dealing in dagga was opened for investigation, said Mophiring.
