Johannesburg - A phone call to the flying squad saved a family from being robbed of their household goods on Monday, said North Rand police.
Police spokeswperson Cynthia Kleinhans said two would-be robbers were ransacking a house at Northmead in Benoni on Monday just after 09:00.
A witness saw what was happening and called the flying squad 10111 emergency number.
The squad arrived and the pair tried to run away, but were caught.
"We appreciate the person who called the 1011 immediately because we could get to the scene quickly and make the arrest," Kleinhans said.
Two suspects, in their early 20s, are due to appear in Benoni magistrate's court on Tuesday.
