School wants drug sellers to go

Johannesburg - A Port Elizabeth school has approached the High Court in a bid get two boys expelled who were caught supplying dagga to fellow pupils, The Herald Online reported on Thursday.
This came after almost a month of waiting for the Eastern Cape education department to endorse the expulsions.
In this period, the governing body recommendation on the matter also had to be re-submitted because the original could not be found.
A copy was eventually hand-delivered to the department's Bisho office. Alexander Road High school said even attempts by the department's district office to get a response had failed.
Both pupils admitted to their misconduct on August 7 this year at a disciplinary council hearing.
But they had to be re-admitted to classes because of the department's continued failure to respond to an expulsion recommendation.
Since then, one of them had allegedly caused serious disruptions in class, and threatened a teacher with physical violence.
Alexander Road principal Peter Manser said in an affidavit said the education department had to date not responded to the school's bid to expel the boys.
Port Elizabeth High Court judge John Grogan ruled this week that the department had until next Monday to take a final decision on the future of the boys.
