Johannesburg - Seven armed men robbed a security company's depot at Modderfontein, Johannesburg, and escaped with cash and firearms, said North Rand police on Sunday.

Superintendent Eugene Opperman said the men entered the Coin Security depot on Saturday night and held the staff at gunpoint.

"Some cash and firearms were stolen and the robbers escaped in an unknown vehicle," said Opperman.

No injuries were reported and no shots were fired.

North Rand police were investigating a case of armed robbery, said Opperman.
