Mokopane - A husband has been charged with killing his wife and selling her body parts and a bucket of her blood to a sangoma for R4 500.
The man, Johannes Matsika, 45, of Mentz near Mokopane was re-arrested on Wednesday after skipping bail in January while on R1 000 bail as a suspect in his wife's murder.
On Wednesday, police were taken to a shallow grave where his wife's body was found and exhumed.
Superintendent Patty Khumalo of Polokwane police said: "The body was in an extreme state of decomposition and a post-mortem will be done to confirm if any body parts are missing."
Kidnap claims
The sangoma was arrested on Thursday and can't be named until a Mokopane magistrates' court appearance with Matsika on Friday.
When Matsika's wife first disappeared, police found text messages sent from her cellphone to her father, claiming she had been kidnapped.
The police found the text messages were a lie, however, and arrested Matsika.
Then he allegedly skipped bail and was on the run for 10 months before being re-arrested on Wednesday.
