20 cops guard Shaik in hospital

Durban - Businessman Schabir Shaik is being guarded by at least 20 police officers in St Augustine's Hospital here in their renal transplant unit.
The afternoon newspaper, the Daily News, reported that Shaik was admitted to the hospital under an alias on Friday afternoon and was treated for depression and stress.
Correctional services officials refused to divulge his condition, but confirmed on Monday that he was in hospital.

The deputy commissioner of communications, Manelisi Wolela, said: "We can acknowledge only that he's been taken to hospital."
Has not been eating
Sapa has reliably learnt that he was taken to St Augustine's Hospital.
The Daily News quoted a St Augustine's staffer as saying that Shaik had been placed in the hospital's renal transplant unit.
"He has not been eating and goes to the bathroom for long periods of time," the staffer was reported as having said.
