  • Johannesburg - City Press editor Mathatha Tsedu said police could have done more to save his son who was found murdered in the boot of his car, reported SABC news on Saturday.

Tsedu was speaking at the scene where his son's body was found. Avhatakali Netshisaulu was a chartered accountant.

Netshisaulu's body was found burnt beyond recognition in the boot of his car in a field in Nooitgedacht near Muldersdrift.

The 31-year-old had left his Northriding home to meet someone in Honeydew at 20:00 on Thursday.

He had phoned his wife, Mulalo telling her that he thought he was being hijacked.

Mulalo, who had went to look for him, found firefighters trying to extinguish the flames from her husband's car.

She also expressed her disappointment in the police, saying they should have saved her husband.
