Boeremag 'helpers' get bail
22/01/2007 13:05 - (SA)
Johannesburg - A couple suspected of helping two alleged Boeremag members were granted R10 000 bail at the Modimolle magistrate's court in Limpopo on Monday, police said.
National police spokesperson Director Sally de Beer said Jacobus Bogaards, 47, and Elizabeth Bogaards, 49, would appear in court again on February 16 for the start of their trial.
The Bogaards face charges under the Protection of Democracy Against Terrorism and Related Activities Act.
One of the conditions of bail was that Jacobus Bogaards would have to report to the Bela Bela police station and Elizabeth to the Modimolle station three times a week.
"Police are satisfied with the bail because we arrested Herman van Rooyen and Rudi Gouws on the weekend," she said.
Van Rooyen and Gouws were re-arrested at a townhouse complex in Lyttelton, Pretoria - a week after the couple's arrest for allegedly aiding and abetting them.
The two men escaped from the Pretoria High Court on May 3 where they were on trial for treason, sabotage and murder.
