Cradock - A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly repeatedly raping an 80-year-old woman on a farm near Cradock, said Eastern Cape police on Sunday.
Captain Errol Claassen said the elderly woman was looking for her grandchildren when the man offered to help her on Friday night.
"When the two reached the Fish River, the suspect allegedly raped the complainant three times."
Claassen said the man then took the woman to a nearby schoolyard where he allegedly raped her again.
"He then accompanied her to her home. The woman reported the matter and the suspect was arrested on Saturday."
He was due to appear in Cradock magistrate's court on Monday.
Raped on grave
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old girl was raped in the cemetery at Michausdal township in Cradock.
Claassen said the teenager was walking home with friends when she was attacked on Friday about 23:00.
"The suspect took her to the cemetery and raped her on top of a grave."
A 19-year-old youth was arrested for the rape on Saturday. The two stay on the same street in Michausdal.
He was due to appear in Cradock Magistrate's Court on Monday.
