Johannesburg - Mpumalanga premier Thabang Makwetla has appointed two former MECs back into his new executive committee, SABC news reported on Tuesday.
The new MEC for Roads and Transport, David Mabuza was MEC for Education during the 1998 Mpumalanga matric results scandal.
His successor Craig Padyachee made headlines when trying to fire the then head of the education department, Faith Sithole, but eventually had to let her go with a golden handshake, the broadcaster said.
Padyachee is now MEC for Economic Planning and Development.
Mabuza is currently the deputy chair of the ANC in Mpumalanga.
