Johannesburg - The manager of a Melville restaurant was shot and wounded in a robbery on Sunday morning, Gauteng police said.
Sergeant Sanku Tsunke said five men held staff at the Dros Restaurant and Wine Cellar at gunpoint early on Sunday morning.
They shot and wounded the manager and took an undisclosed amount of money.
A security guard had earlier responded to an alarm which went off in the Auckland Park area.
He discovered that it was a false alarm and got back into his car when two armed men approached his vehicle and forced him to let them in.
They robbed him of his firearm and then directed him to the Dros where the robbery was in process. Two get-away cars
The two men with the security guard got out of his vehicle.
The men who held up the restaurant were walking toward two get-away vehicles in the Dros parking lot.
They got into the cars, along with the other two men who had robbed the security guard.
Two of the men were arrested as they made their way from the restaurant to the get-away vehicle.
The others were still at large.
