Johannesburg - Four men have been arrested after a farmer and his wife were attacked on their farm near Bultfontein on Saturday night, Free State police say.
The four, all from Soweto, allegedly held up and assaulted Freddy Nel and his wife on their farm Verblyden around 21:00, said Sergeant Malebo Khosana on Sunday.
They fled in a black BMW with the couple's revolver, a shotgun and hunting rifle as well as R2 000 in cash.
The burnt-out BMW was later found in the veld about 2km from the scene.
Police and farmers arrested three of the men near the crime scene, a third was nabbed near the car. A fifth suspect was still at large. The couple sustained minor injuries during the robbery.
All three firearms were recovered, but the cash was still missing, said Khosana.
