Pretoria - Two men, aged 25 and 27, were arrested after they allegedly robbed and stabbed an elderly man and his two children in Garsfontein, said Pretoria police on Thursday.
Inspector Paul Ramaloko said five armed men broke into their home and held up the family of three at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon.
"The men stabbed the elderly man and his two children who are in their late twenties," said Ramaloko.
The robbers made off with personal belongings including cellphones and a wallet.
Ramaloko said police were called in after the robbery and a chase ensued during which two of the men were caught, the other three escaped.
"Two knifes and the stolen (items) were recovered."
