Mafikeng - A teenage girl was arrested for stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death near Mafikeng at the weekend.

Police spokesperson captain Sabata Mokgwaabone said the boy and his young brother went to the girl's home to watch television on Saturday.

An argument broke out and the girl stabbed him in the neck, killing him instantly.

The girl was arrested and police later released her into the custody of her parents.

She is scheduled to appear in court on a charge of murder this week, once a social worker has interviewed her.
